Creating scenes and shots
Your shot list is organised into scenes, each containing one or more shots. You can add as many scenes and shots as your project requires.Open the Shot List
Navigate to your project and select Shot List from the sidebar. CineFlow automatically creates a version if none exists yet.
Add a scene

Alt+Shift+A. Give the scene a name that matches your script (for example, EXT. ROOFTOP – DAY).Add a shot
With a scene selected, click New Shot or press
Alt+Shift+T. A new shot row appears inside the scene.Shot fields
Each shot supports the following fields:| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Shot number | A short identifier such as 1A or 42. |
| Description | A brief note on what the shot captures. |
| Lens | Focal length or lens name (for example, 35mm or 85mm). |
| Camera angle | Eye-level, low angle, high angle, bird’s eye, etc. |

Reordering shots with drag-and-drop
You can reorganise shots within a scene, or move shots between scenes, by dragging the grab handle on the left side of any shot row. Release the shot in its new position and CineFlow saves the order automatically.Linking shots to script scenes
When you have a script in CineFlow, you can link each shot list scene to the corresponding scene in your script. This keeps your creative and planning documents in sync.Open the script dock
Press
Alt+\ to toggle the script dock on the right side of the shot list editor. The dock displays your script so you can reference it while building shots.Linking a scene does not lock any content — you can still edit shot descriptions freely. The link is a reference only.
Scheduling shots to shoot days
Each shot can be assigned to a specific shoot day, letting you plan your production schedule directly inside the shot list. Open the shoot day panel from the toolbar and drag shots to the appropriate day, or use the inline shoot day selector on each shot row. CineFlow keeps shoot day assignments in sync with your callsheets.AI storyboard generation
CineFlow can generate a storyboard image for any shot using AI. Select a shot, open its detail panel, and click Generate storyboard. The AI reads the shot’s description, lens, and angle fields to produce a visual reference image.Storyboard generation is powered by a remote AI service and requires an internet connection. Generated images are stored in your project’s cloud storage.
