The shot list is where your production takes visual shape. CineFlow gives you a scene-and-shot hierarchy, drag-and-drop reordering, AI storyboard generation, a live link to your script, and one-click PDF export — everything your crew needs to walk on set prepared.

Creating scenes and shots

Your shot list is organised into scenes, each containing one or more shots. You can add as many scenes and shots as your project requires.
1

Open the Shot List

Navigate to your project and select Shot List from the sidebar. CineFlow automatically creates a version if none exists yet.
2

Add a scene

Click New Scene in the toolbar, or press Alt+Shift+A. Give the scene a name that matches your script (for example, EXT. ROOFTOP – DAY).
3

Add a shot

With a scene selected, click New Shot or press Alt+Shift+T. A new shot row appears inside the scene.
4

Fill in shot details

Click any field in the shot row to edit it inline. See the full list of fields below.

Shot fields

Each shot supports the following fields:
FieldDescription
Shot numberA short identifier such as 1A or 42.
DescriptionA brief note on what the shot captures.
LensFocal length or lens name (for example, 35mm or 85mm).
Camera angleEye-level, low angle, high angle, bird’s eye, etc.
Camera movementStatic, pan, tilt, dolly, handheld, crane, etc.
DurationEstimated screen time for the shot.
NotesAny additional on-set instructions or reminders.

Reordering shots with drag-and-drop

You can reorganise shots within a scene, or move shots between scenes, by dragging the grab handle on the left side of any shot row. Release the shot in its new position and CineFlow saves the order automatically.
Reordering scenes works the same way — drag the scene header to change the sequence of scenes across your shot list.

Linking shots to script scenes

When you have a script in CineFlow, you can link each shot list scene to the corresponding scene in your script. This keeps your creative and planning documents in sync.
1

Open the script dock

Press Alt+\ to toggle the script dock on the right side of the shot list editor. The dock displays your script so you can reference it while building shots.
2

Link a scene

On any shot list scene header, click the Link to script scene button (the chain icon). Select the matching scene from the dropdown. The link is shown with the scene number pulled from your script.
Linking a scene does not lock any content — you can still edit shot descriptions freely. The link is a reference only.

Scheduling shots to shoot days

Each shot can be assigned to a specific shoot day, letting you plan your production schedule directly inside the shot list. Open the shoot day panel from the toolbar and drag shots to the appropriate day, or use the inline shoot day selector on each shot row. CineFlow keeps shoot day assignments in sync with your callsheets.

AI storyboard generation

CineFlow can generate a storyboard image for any shot using AI. Select a shot, open its detail panel, and click Generate storyboard. The AI reads the shot’s description, lens, and angle fields to produce a visual reference image.
Storyboard generation is powered by a remote AI service and requires an internet connection. Generated images are stored in your project’s cloud storage.

Versioning your shot list

CineFlow automatically maintains versions of your shot list so you can track changes over time.
Open the Versions panel from the toolbar. Each version shows the date it was created. Click any version to preview it.
Click Save version in the toolbar to snapshot your current shot list. You can add a label to describe what changed.
In the Versions panel, select the version you want and click Restore. Your current shot list is replaced with the selected snapshot.

Exporting the shot list as PDF

To produce a print-ready shot list for your crew, click Export PDF in the toolbar or press Alt+Shift+S. Choose your layout options in the export dialog, then click Download.
PDF exports count against your plan’s monthly export limit. Free plans include 10 exports per month; Solo plans include 100. Team and Pro plans have unlimited PDF exports.

Sharing the shot list

You can share a read-only view of your shot list with collaborators who do not have a CineFlow account.
1

Open the share dialog

Click Share in the toolbar.
2

Generate a link

Click Create link. CineFlow generates a unique, shareable URL.
3

Copy and send

Copy the link and share it with your team. Anyone with the link can view the shot list without logging in.
4

Revoke access

Return to the share dialog and click Revoke to deactivate the link at any time.
