CineFlow can notify you about activity in your projects through email, push notifications on iOS, and in-app alerts. All of these settings live in one place so you can tune exactly how much — and through which channels — you hear from the app.

Opening notification settings

Navigate to Settings and select the Notifications tab. Changes save automatically as you make them.

Email digest

The email digest batches recent project activity into a single summary email so your inbox doesn’t fill up with one message per event. Open the Email digest dropdown and choose how often you want to receive digests:
OptionBehaviour
OffNo digest emails are sent. This also opts you out of lifecycle emails (see below).
Every 15 minutesA summary is sent up to every 15 minutes when there is new activity.
HourlyA summary is sent up to once per hour when there is new activity.
DailyA single daily summary covers all activity from the previous 24 hours.
Daily works well for producers and directors who check messages in batches. Hourly or Every 15 minutes suits coordinators who need to react quickly to uploads and comments during pre-production.

Opting out of automated emails

Setting your email digest frequency to Off also turns off CineFlow’s automated onboarding emails — the welcome series and first-project reminder nudges that are sent during your first two weeks. If you want to receive digest emails but not the automated series, contact hello@cineflow.cloud and we’ll update your preferences manually.

Notification channels

The Notification channels section lets you choose how you receive alerts for specific types of activity. For each event type, you can select:
ChannelWhat it does
OffNo notifications for this event type.
EmailSends an alert to your account email, subject to your digest frequency.
PushSends a push notification to the iOS app.
Email + PushSends both an email and a push notification.
Push and Email + Push are currently marked Soon and will be available in an upcoming release. In the meantime, Email is the active delivery channel.
The event types you can configure are:
Triggered when someone comments on a project you are a member of. Useful for staying on top of feedback on shot lists, scripts, and documents.
Triggered when someone replies directly to a comment you wrote. You receive this even if you have Comments set to Off.
Triggered when someone mentions you by name in a comment. Mentions are high-signal — consider keeping this on Email even if other channels are off.
Triggered when new files are uploaded to a project. Helpful for DPs and directors who want to know when the latest cut, storyboard, or location photo arrives.
Triggered on status and milestone changes. On the desktop app, choose Email or Email + Push to receive system notifications when the app is running in the background.

Push notifications on iOS

To receive push notifications from the CineFlow iOS app, you need to grant permission in iOS Settings:
1

Open the iOS Settings app

Tap Settings on your iPhone’s home screen.
2

Find CineFlow

Scroll down and tap CineFlow in the app list.
3

Tap Notifications

Tap Notifications and enable Allow Notifications.
4

Choose alert styles

Choose which alert styles you want — Lock Screen, Notification Centre, and Banners are all available. Enable Sounds and Badges if you want those as well.
Once iOS permission is granted, notifications for the event types you’ve set to Push or Email + Push in CineFlow will appear on your device.

In-app notifications

Activity alerts also appear inside CineFlow itself when you are using the app. These are not configurable separately — the same events you enable for email or push will surface as in-app notifications as well.
Per-project notification overrides — letting you mute or customise alerts for individual projects — are coming in a future release.
