CineFlow can notify you about activity in your projects through email, push notifications on iOS, and in-app alerts. All of these settings live in one place, Settings → Notifications: and changes save automatically as you make them.

Email digest

The email digest batches recent project activity into a single summary email so your inbox doesn’t fill up with one message per event. Open the Email digest dropdown and choose your preferred frequency:
Daily works well for producers and directors who check messages in batches. Hourly or Every 15 minutes suits coordinators who need to react quickly to uploads and comments during pre-production.

Opting out of automated emails

Setting your email digest frequency to Off also turns off CineFlow’s automated onboarding emails, the welcome series and first-project reminder nudges sent during your first two weeks. If you want digest emails but not the automated series, reach out to hello@cineflow.cloud and we’ll update your preferences manually.

Notification channels

The Notification channels section lets you choose how you receive alerts for specific types of activity. For each event type, you can select:
Push and Email + Push are coming soon and will be available in an upcoming release. Email is the active delivery channel in the meantime.
The event types you can configure are:
Triggered when someone comments on a project you’re a member of. Useful for staying on top of feedback on shot lists, scripts, and documents.
Triggered when someone replies directly to a comment you wrote. You receive this even if you have Comments set to Off.
Triggered when someone mentions you in a comment. Mentions are high-signal, consider keeping this on Email even if other channels are off.
Triggered when new files are uploaded to a project. Helpful for DPs and directors who want to know when the latest cut, storyboard, or location photo arrives.
Triggered on status and milestone changes. On the desktop app, CineFlow delivers these as native system notifications when the app is running in the background.

Push notifications on iOS

To receive push notifications on the CineFlow iOS app, you need to grant permission in iOS Settings first.
1

Open iOS Settings

Tap Settings on your iPhone’s home screen.
2

Find CineFlow

Scroll down and tap CineFlow.
3

Enable notifications

Tap Notifications and turn on Allow Notifications. Choose your preferred alert styles, Lock Screen, Notification Centre, and Banners are all supported.
Once permission is granted, the push channel options in Settings → Notifications inside CineFlow become active.

Desktop notifications

The macOS desktop app delivers Project updates as native system notifications when it’s running in the background. No extra setup is required, macOS will prompt you to allow notifications the first time the app tries to send one.
